CAD files should be in one of the above formats . If
applicable, include a 2-D format containing a plan view of the
ejector half, a plan view of the hot half, a side view and an
end view. It is not necessary to have a detailed print for each
plate unless the particular plate in question is more complex
than normal. In that event a detail print of that plate would
be very helpful. An example would be a manifold housing plate
with a complex (or obscure) wire slot configuration. Your CAD
file should not contain unnecessary chamfers or radii on items
such as plates, holes or components, except when such items are
specifically required. Such items compounds your print with
excessive geometry, costing your project valuable time and
increasing the possibilty of incorrect information being
extracted.
Although it is assumed that the data is guaranteed,
dimensioning is required for confirmation in our shop. Any item
in the base PMBC machines which "touches" inserts needs to be
dimensioned. I.E. Locations for ejector pins, insert bolts and
taps, angle pins, lifter pockets, probes, etc. Sizes need to be
included for items such as pockets and/or bores, probes, probe
c'bores, etc. In addition, any non-standard component purchased
by the customer should be dimensioned. Unless an unusual
situation applies, it is not necessary to dimension any of the
standard assembly items in the base such as leader pins,
assembly bolts, dowels, buttons, ejector guides, support posts,
etc.
For compression.
We have the capability for the following formats.
ZIP, all DOS versions.
SIT, Macintosh compression.
compress, standard Unix compression.
gzip, GNU Unix compression (common on UNIX).
bzip2, block-sorting zip compression (also common on
UNIX).
Precision Mold Base's exacting standards assure you a high-quality, accurate mold base ready to receive the mold insert.
